Product Introduction

Intended use

This TT3 Fast Blood Test (Immunofluorescence Assay) is applicable to the in vitro quantitative detection the level of total thyroxine (TT3) in human whole blood, serum or plasma samples and is mainly used for evaluating thyroid function. This kit only provides test result of total triiodothyronine (TT3).

Summary

The thyroid gland is a very important endocrine organ, located below the thyroid cartilage in the neck and on both sides of the trachea, shaped like a butterfly. The thyroid hormones secreted by the thyroid gland - triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) - can promote growth and development, regulate metabolism, and affect the excitability of the nervous system.

TT3 is total triiodothyronine. About 20% of TT3 is produced by the thyroid gland, and the remaining 80% comes mainly from the liver, which is produced by the exocyclic deiodination (5'D-Ⅰ) conversion of TT4. Elevated result of the TT3 Fast Blood Test (Immunofluorescence Assay) may be related to hyperthyroidism. An overactive thyroid gland causes excessive TT3 to be released into the blood, causing a series of symptoms of accelerated metabolism. Hyperthyroid patients may experience symptoms such as palpitations, weight loss, sweating, and anxiety. These symptoms are caused by the stimulation of the central nervous system and cardiovascular system by thyroid hormone, which accelerates the body's metabolism.

Why Test TT3?

As one of thyroid-stimulating hormones, the TT3 Fast Blood Test (Immunofluorescence Assay) reports can usually be applied to assess the functional status of the thyroid gland.

Increased: hyperthyroidism, high TBG, early stage of subacute thyroiditis and chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, ectopic TSH syndrome, choriocarcinoma, hydatidiform mole, bronchial carcinoma
Decreased: hypothyroidism, mid- and late stage of subacute thyroiditis and chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, low TT3 syndrome, chronic renal failure.
