Intended use

This Luteinizing Hormone (LH) FIA Test is developed for quantitative detect of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) in multiple human samples, such as whole blood, serum or plasma. It is for professional use only.

Summary

Luteinizing hormone (LH) is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by gonadotropin cells in the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland. It is commonly seen in hormone level related tests. LH plays an important role in the development of the female reproductive system, ovulation, pregnancy and other physiological processes, promoting ovarian ovulation and lutein production to promote the secretion of progesterone and estrogen by the corpus luteum. In the male body, it is related to spermatogenesis and reproductive function, promoting the synthesis and release of testosterone by testicular interstitial cells.

A high result of the Luteinizing Hormone (LH) FIA Test can indicate low ovarian function, such as premature ovarian failure caused by various reasons or polycystic ovary syndrome; a low level can indicate hypofunction of the pituitary gland or luteal body, such as luteal atrophy or insufficiency, and can also indicate hypothalamic and pituitary disease. , such as injuries caused by tumors and trauma.

• Polycystic ovary syndrome: LH/FSH ratio>2~3 is helpful for the diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome.
• Precocious puberty:

For children with precocious puberty, cyclical changes in FSH and LH indicate true precocious puberty, and low levels of FSH and LH without cyclical changes indicate false precocious puberty.
