8,March is International Women's Day(IWD). International Women's Day The theme for IWD 2024 is 'Inspire Inclusion'. When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.
Collectively, let's forge a more inclusive world for women and know how it is established in history.
International Women's Day is a testimony to the history made by women and the long journey women have taken to fight for equality with men. Lysistrata in ancient Greece led women's struggles to prevent war; during the French Revolution, Parisian women shouted "liberty, equality, fraternity" and took to the streets of Versailles to fight for the right to vote.
The idea of establishing International Women's Day first emerged in the early
20th century, when Western countries were in the stage of rapid industrialization and economic expansion. Poor working conditions and low wages have led to protests and strikes. In May 1908, when the Socialist Party of America held its national convention in Chicago, left-wing women's rights activists took the opportunity to start a discussion on gender equality in newspapers, called on female workers to protest outside the venue, and demanded that the Socialist Party establish a National Women's Council to specifically Responsible for the organization and promotion of women's sports. Although most of the male party representatives were extremely disdainful of this, they finally adopted the proposal under pressure. This day is recognized by the United Nations and has also been designated as a legal holiday by many countries. Women from all over the world, despite being separated by different national boundaries, races, languages, cultures, economies and politics, can celebrate their own festivals on this day at the same time. Let people look back on the struggle for equality, justice, peace and development 90 years ago.
The first celebration of Women's Day was on February 28, 1909 - after the establishment of the National Women's Committee of the Socialist Party of the United States, it was decided that starting from 1909, the last Sunday in February each year would be designated as "National Women's Day", dedicated to organizing Large rallies and marches. The reason for setting it on Sunday is to prevent female workers from taking time off in order to participate in activities, which would cause additional financial burdens on them.
Today is a day for women all over the world. While VACURE extends holiday greetings to all women, let us also pay tribute to those women who work hard and make silent contributions on the front line, feel the extraordinary power they have bloomed in social development, and be grateful to the times. With the fast rapid of times, women have more space to show their talents!
